We are reaching out today to assure you that we are monitoring the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) situation closely and are working to ensure we meet the needs of our clients as well as provide for the health and safety of our employees and clients, especially those at high risk.
We will remain open for business but will conduct business by phone or email as we will have our doors closed to the public at this time. To ensure our clients’ accounting and tax needs are supported, we have taken specific steps as part of our business continuity plan. These steps include:
• encouraging clients to use our drop-off location at the front door, mail or email tax information in
• closing our main office to foot traffic to limit personal contact in favor of social distancing in accordance with CDC guidance
• sending signature packets for tax returns via US Mail, e-signature or our secure file sharing portal
With all the turmoil the virus has created, the IRS and Department of Revenue have officially extended the tax filing and tax payment deadlines to July 15, 2020. This includes payments for 2019 taxes and 2020 1st Quarter estimated tax payments. This is an automatic extension, so there are no additional forms to file. We will do our best to get your returns prepared in a timely manner but know that with all the disruptions and difficulties in many aspects of community, office, and schools it could be after April 15th but will be before July 15, 2020.
As a team of professionals proudly serving our local community, we greatly appreciate the trust and confidence you have placed with our firm. We understand you rely on us for financial and tax expertise and for meeting deadlines imposed by federal and state agencies, even during difficult and complex times like these and we are dedicated to that. Please be patient with us as this is all evolving. The recommended actions and approaches to COVID-19 evolved rapidly and we feel this is in the best interest of our clients and our staff. Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
